Helping
You...Help Yourself!
Independent Living (ILP) is
a vendored program contracted through Redwood Coast Regional Center (RCRC) that helps developmentally disabled adults within
Del Norte County, function independently with limited outside assistance.
Our program encourages self-reliance
and self-advocacy by teaching consumers to evaluate options, make informed choices and to use the community's resources
available to them. We provide a safety net to ensure that needs do not go unnoticed or ignored.
Our assistance
is customized to the unique situation of each consumer. Together, we work to develop their strengths and design living strategies
that compensate for limited abilities.
Our program's knowledgeable staff is sensitive to the special needs
of consumers. We are always looking for options that will stabilize our clients living transactions.
We help clients with:
- Finding
housing and setting up utilities
- H.U.D. applications
- Literacy
- Medical appointment scheduling and transportation
